Harvest Supervisor
Job Description
- Lead and supervise the daily coconut-sap harvesting activities, ensuring that sap collection is done efficiently, following proper techniques, and according to the harvest schedule.
- Ensure that all harvesting activities adhere to the company’s organic farming standards, including the use of eco-friendly methods and materials. Regularly inspect the harvesting process for compliance with organic certification requirements.
- Oversee and direct the harvesting team, ensuring they follow proper procedures for coconut-sap collection. Provide guidance and training as necessary to improve team performance and ensure safety.
- Regularly inspect bamboo ladders, collection containers, and other tools used in the harvesting process to ensure they are in good working condition. Report any equipment damage and arrange repairs or replacements as needed.
- Promote a safe working environment by ensuring that all safety protocols are followed, especially when using ladders and handling equipment. Conduct safety briefings and ensure workers are using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor the health and condition of the coconut trees and the overall quality of the sap collected. Prepare and submit daily or weekly reports on sap yield, team performance, and any equipment or safety issues encountered.
- Support the farm’s sustainability initiatives by encouraging responsible farming practices among the harvesting team. Ensure minimal waste and the proper handling of materials.
Qualifications
- Preferably a degree in Agriculture or any related 4-year course.
- Willingness to do fieldwork and be actively involved in hands-on tasks.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage and coordinate with the team effectively.
- Ability to drive a motorcycle, with a valid Driver’s License.
- Willing to be assigned to Rizal, Palawan.
