As Christmas Day approaches, the festive spirit continues to brighten Rizal, Palawan, where a spectacular Christmas tree lighting ceremony held at Lionheart Farms last month has transformed into a nightly celebration of community joy. Since November 28, when more than 500 residents gathered for the initial lighting, the display has become a cherished evening destination for local families.
The magic of that opening night still resonates through the community. Parents chatted with neighbors while children played outside the Punta Baja Office. For families like that of five-year-old Mia, it was a night to remember. "The lights, the laughter, the treats—it’s pure magic," said her mother, beaming as Mia played with other children under the starlit sky.
Building Traditions That Last
Now in its final days before Christmas, the tree lighting has proven once again to be one of Rizal's most beloved holiday traditions. It’s a time for neighbors to connect, children to laugh, and families to create memories. For longtime resident Katerine Reyes, the event symbolizes how far the community has come. "When I was young, we didn’t have celebrations like this. Now, it’s something my children look forward to every year," she shared with a smile.
The initial lighting ceremony set the tone for the season, with Vice President Maria Cecilia Chang emphasizing the company's commitment to community connection. "This is our way of giving back to the community," said Vice President Maria Cecilia Chang. "The holidays are about gratitude, reflection, and the connections that bring us closer." she added.
"As we approach Christmas Day, seeing families continue to gather here every evening has truly embodied what we hoped for – a space where holiday spirit brings people together," Chang reflects.
Season's Festivities Continue
While the opening ceremony featured special performances by Lionheart employees in their festive "Let It Slow" red shirts, the space has since become a backdrop for spontaneous community celebrations. Local families have made the illuminated area their evening meeting point, often bringing holiday treats to share.
The introduction of The Power of Slow Oolong Citrus Grape flavor during the ceremony has added another layer to the seasonal festivities. Each guest received a sample of this natural hydration drink, crafted entirely in Rizal by local workers.
"This drink is more than just a product," explained Leonardo Baylosis, a farmer who has been with Lionheart for eight years. "It’s a symbol of our community’s pride and hard work."

Lights That Spark Joy
As Christmas Eve approaches, the tree's lights continue to draw visitors each evening. Children who attended the initial lighting still return with their families, finding new joy in the familiar glow. The tree has become more than just a holiday decoration – it's a symbol of the enduring community spirit in Rizal.
The lights will remain on through the holiday season, offering a festive gathering place for last-minute Christmas celebrations and post-holiday evening visits. In these final days before Christmas, the tree stands as a reminder of how a single evening of celebration can spark a month of community connection and joy.
