Workplace Safety
Nothing matters more than the safety and wellbeing of our people. Our work starts before sunrise at the top of a coconut palm and continues around the clock in our factory.
Our Commitments
Our facility is SMETA audited. SMETA is an ethical trade audit that covers health and safety alongside labour standards, environment and business ethics.
Separately, our factory holds BRCGS Food Safety certification at Grade AA (2026). BRCGS covers the safety of our products; SMETA covers the people who make them.

Our Key Programs and Actions
Safe work from palm to pallet, built on a few programs we apply every day.
Safe Climbing and Tapping
Tappers work at height every morning. Every new tapper is trained in safe climbing and tapping before working alone, and climbing equipment is checked regularly.
Equipment and Procedures
Every production team member is trained on the equipment they use, wears the protective equipment their station requires, and works to written safety procedures. Our Engineering, Construction & Maintenance team looks after equipment and buildings on site.
Health on Site
First aid is available on every shift, and we are recruiting a company nurse to support health on site for a workforce that runs day and night.
Stop Work and Speak Up
Anyone can stop work they believe is unsafe and report a hazard or incident without fear of retaliation. We record incidents and learn from them.
Leading Metrics
In 2025 we completed 14 safety training programs, including Basic Life Support and fire and earthquake drills, kept protective equipment available 95% of the time, and introduced real-time incident reporting. Regular environmental audits cover wastewater and waste disposal.
